An installation in Dresden commemorating refugees who died trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea was met by a small counter-demonstration, Friday.

The installation, which simulates a cemetery using pictures as graves, was inaugurated on Friday by the Mayor of Dresden, Dirk Hilbert.

SOT, Heiko Muller, Commemoration to the deaths of the Dresden bombing organiser (German): “I would like to honour the German victims as well. We only have a memorial stone in a freedom cemetery, it is anonymous. I would gladly like that at the Altmark, where 6,000 people died, that there would be a memorial. Not only for the Syrian victims, but we would also like our people here."

SOT, Heiko Muller, Commemoration to the deaths of the Dresden bombing organiser (German): "This is the same as with the buses, it is a provocation for Germans and above all for people from Dresden. Because the 13th of February belongs to us. We don’t need to take the guilt of other countries. They can do it on any other day but not on the 13th."
